Four school districts, two private schools but ONE COMMUNITY.
La Marque is unique in the fact that there are six school systems within the city limits. Depending on where they live, school-age children could be zoned to Dickinson ISD, Hitchcock ISD, Santa Fe ISD or Texas City ISD. Private schools also operate within La Marque City Limits at Abundant LIfe Christian Academy and Mainland Preparatory Classical Academy. As of April 2019, open enrollment opportunities have been closed.

While local municipalities, such as the City of La Marque, have no jurisdiction and no voting power on the school boards within our city limits, we maintain open relationships with the district leaders in our community because quality education is vital to a thriving community.

Homes east of I45 are zoned to Texas City ISD.
A new elementary school is being built within the city limits of La Marque in TCISD.
Homes in Delany Cove and Borondo Pines are zoned to Hitchcock ISD.
Homes in Prairie Knoll and Painted Meadows are zoned to Santa Fe ISD.
A new elementary school was recently built in Santa Fe, Texas, off FM 1764. Many students who live in La Marque will attend the new school.
A very small residential area in La Marque is zoned to Dickinson ISD, but the Walmart and Sam's complex falls in DISD.
In nearby City of Texas City, College of the Mainland offers a variety of affordable education programs for associate degrees, certifications and trade schools.
College of the Mainland was a beckoning vision in the minds of community leaders as far back as the early 1960s. The first concrete step was taken in October 1966 when the College of the Mainland Junior College District was formed. The area of the College District encompasses 237 square miles, and its taxing district includes the five independent school districts of Dickinson, Hitchcock, La Marque, Santa Fe and Texas City. Its service district includes Friendswood ISD and the part of Clear Creek ISD located in Galveston County.
