Conduct Public Hearing to hear public input on: 

Making appropriations for the support of the City of La Marque for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, appropriating money to a sinking fund to pay interest and principal due on the City's indebtedness; and adopting the annual budget for the City of La Marque for the 2022-2023 fiscal year

Approving the redistricting of the city's single-member council districts and establishing new district boundary lines based on 2020 census data for the City of La Marque, Texas City Council elections; making various findings and provisions related to the subject and providing for an effective date

Discussion/ possible action regarding approving:

Making appropriations for the support of the City of La Marque for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, appropriating money to a sinking fund to pay interest and principal due on the City's indebtedness; and adopting the annual budget for the City of La Marque for the 2022-2023 fiscal year

Levying Ad Valorem Taxes for use and operation of the municipal government of the City of La Marque, Texas for 2022 tax year; providing for apportioning each levy for specific purposes; and, providing when taxes shall become due and when same shall become delinquent if not paid

Granting and establishing a franchise fee allowing for the construction, maintenance, operation, extension, removal, replacement, and repair of a system of pipelines, laterals, attachments, and all desirable instrumentalities in, under, over, across, and along any and all streets, avenues, parkways, squares, alleys and all other public places in the City of La Marque, Texas for the purpose of transporting and distributing wastewater and potable water; providing an effective date; and making other findings and provisions related to the subject

The following items shall be considered for action as a whole unless one or more Councilmembers objects. Unless otherwise specified, the City Manager is authorized to execute all necessary documents upon final approval by the City Attorney.

Approving payment of invoice to Sprint Waste of Texas in the amount of $50,882.00

Approving a contract with Galveston County Health District, Office of Environmental Health Programs for Water Quality Inspection services in the amount of $15,886.00

Acknowledging application submission for the Railroad Crossing Elimination Program

Accepting the 2022 City of La Marque investment policy for the investment of municipal funds per the Public Investment Act

Purchase of flooring for installation at 431 Bayou, 1109-B Bayou, and 1111 Bayou 

Authorizing design, engineering, bidding, and construction engineering services that consist of improvements to the water distribution system

Regarding drafting a policy regarding the naming of property held by the City of La Marque

Additional items to bring awareness to Council and the Community as well as future agenda item requests are accepted at this time.

The City Council for the City of La Marque, Texas reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by the Texas Government Code Section 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices), and 551.086 (Economic Development)
