Every year during the second week of April the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
A message from La Marque Police Department: The department wanted to take a minute and publicly recognize our telecommunicators for National Telecommunicator Week. If you happen to work with or know someone that does this job, take some time out and let them know they are appreciated. They are truly that voice in the dark. To our LMPD Telecommunicators, THANK YOU for what you do each and every day!

Across the nation in times of intense personal crisis and community-wide disasters, the first access point for those seeking all classes of emergency services is 9-1-1. The local and county public safety communications centers that receive these calls have emerged as the first and single point of contact for persons seeking immediate relief during an emergency.
City of La Marque is celebrating the second full week of April (April 8-14, 2018) as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This week, sponsored by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International and celebrated annually, honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life saving assistance to the citizens of the United States.
The importance of recognizing and celebrating the hard work of these dedicated professionals at every level is immeasurable. Please join is in thanking La Marque's telecommunicators.
