[ARCHIVED] Flash Flood Watch issued for coastal areas from midnight to 7pm Thurs. Stay Weather Aware!

A Flash Flood Watch as been issued from midnight tonight through 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, for coastal areas that have already experienced heavy rainfall, including City of La Marque.

There is still a chance that a tropical depression or weak tropical storm could develop over the southern Gulf of Mexico but intensification to a hurricane is not expected.

The tropical system in the Gulf is expected to reach lower to mid Texas coast Friday. Expect periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms into Saturday. Street flooding is possible. If you see high water on roadways – Turn Around Don’t Drown.

Follow the National Weather Service Houston-Galveston and monitor local news for current weather conditions. To report an emergency, call 911. For weather-related non-emergency needs call La Marque Police Department Dispatch at 409-938-9269.
