Tropical Depression 22 is in the western Gulf of Mexico, bringing a threat of increased rip currents & coastal flooding to our area this weekend along the Texas coast with the potential of heavy rainfall next week.

Tropical Storm #Beta is forecast to strengthen as it slowly approaches the Texas coast. The latest update on Tropical Storm Beta from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas included a Tropical Storm Warning and a Hurricane Watch for Galveston County.
Mayor Bobby Hocking has issued an Emergency Declaration for the City of La Marque and a voluntary evacuation order for southern portions of the city that are OUTSIDE the flood protection levee. Tropical Storm Beta is expected to intensify over the next couple of days as it moves toward the Texas Coast. Residents should be taking steps to prepare for potential tropical weather. Storm surge and heavy rain are the most predominant threats forecast for La Marque at this time.
