[ARCHIVED] City Employees Recognized for Exemplary Customer Service and Dedication

Venisha Henderson, Jared Wilson and Joe Mose from the Public Services Department were recently recognized for going above and beyond to take care of the citizens of La Marque.

November 2016- Venisha Henderson

According to Chaise Cary, Public Services Superintendent, Venisha Henderson is a customer service expert. In November, Venisha was managing her workload, plus helping with phone calls for another city department.

“November was a busy time for Public Services,” Cary said. “Our call volume had a major spike. Venisha did the work of about four people and did it with a smile. Many citizens called in to compliment Venisha and tell us what a great job she was doing.”

December 2016- Jared Wilson

In December 2016, La Marque was hit with torrential downpour and got 12 inches of rain in a matter of hours. The Emergency Response Personnel team was activated and Public Works staff went into overdrive. The storm collapsed several sewer lines and Jared Wilson was on call through it all. According to Cary, Jared is one of the hardest working guys in the entire department.

“He was working 24 hours a day and never missed a call, said Cary. “While another Public Works employee was on call, Jared was the main crew member that went out at night to help with the sewer calls. He did a fantastic job and we’re lucky to have him on board.”

February 2017- Joe Mose

“Joe Mose is a huge asset to the City of La Marque and a leader in the Public Services department, Cary said. The citizen report we got from Facebook is just one example of his remarkable character.

Facebook message sent to City of La Marque:

“This morning February 9th at approximately 9:00 a.m. a female citizen had an automobile problem at the intersection of Cedar & Howell. She was attempting to push her vehicle out of the roadway with great difficulty when a City of La Marque dump truck pulling a trailer stopped two vehicles behind her. The dump truck driver exited his vehicle and assisted this lady by pushing her out of the roadway. This employee should be commended for his assistance to this citizen.”

Public Services Director Les Rumburg recognizes Venisha Henderson for her outstanding customer service.
