Incumbent Chris Lane defeated challenger Deanie Barrett in the race for District B.

A runoff election is possible in District D, where three candidates were vying for one position. To be elected, one candidate needed to earn 50.1 percent of the vote. Greg Cornett led with 44 percent, Casey McAuliffe earned 35 percent and David Pennington earned 20 percent.

Candidates have a grace period to declare if they want to compete in the runoff election. A special meeting on May 15, 2017, will call for the runoff, canvass the regular election and declare Chris Lane as re-elected.

Early voting for the District D runoff starts June 5 and election day is June 17. Follow the City of La Marque website and social media platforms for updates.
