Noticed for businesses and residences along FM 1764 from I-45, west to the City limits has been rescinded.
On Wednesday, July 26, 2017, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system (City of La Marque PWS ID #0840006) to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN), after a contractor damaged a City water line. Due to the interruption in service, water from a portion of our system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective action to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017.
Only a small portion of La Marque was impacted by the Boil Notice. If you did not lose water pressure your home was not in the impacted area. The impacted areas were businesses and residences along FM 1764 from I-45, west to the City limits. This includes Painted Meadows, Westwood Circle and Prairie Knoll subdivisions.
Citizens in the impacted area were contacted by Connect CTY. if you haven't already, the City of La Marque urges you to register for Connect CTY and E-notifications. Registering for these two services takes about five minutes. http://www.cityoflamarque.org/145/Stay-in-the-Know
All City of La Marque water customers are back up to normal water pressure and the boil water notice has been lifted.
During normal business hours, water emergencies should be directed to Public Services at 409-938-9280. After normal business hours, water emergencies should be directed to La Marque Police Department dispatch at 409-938-9269.
