La Marque, Texas (February 9, 2018) -- Beginning February 9, 2018, U.S. Marshals and more than 300 law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Texas will kick off an annual effort known as the Warrant Roundup to collect debt from outstanding warrants. Warrant Round Up has two phases.
The first phase, beginning on Friday, February 9 and ending Friday, February 23, 2018, will consist of a notification period with warrant calls and mailed notifications. During this time, anyone who has outstanding warrants is encouraged to voluntarily resolve their cases by contacting La Marque Municipal Court. Individuals who are unable to pay their fine in full may request a payment plan with a minimal initial payment. The second phase begins Saturday, February 24. This is the enforcement period, or Round Up Arrest Day. During this time, individuals will be arrested at their homes, work and around town and brought to jail to address their outstanding warrants.
“We encourage those who have active warrants in La Marque to make contact with the Municipal Court and may arrangements for payment,” said La Marque Municipal Court Administrator Rosemary Bell. “Avoid being arrested at your home or place of employment! Call us to find out if you have a warrant or search http://texaswarrantroundup.org/galveston-county-arrest-warrants-search.html.”
“Don't risk being arrested once the Texas Roundup starts, Bell said. If you think you have a warrant in your name, contact us to find out for sure.”
