[ARCHIVED] ALL Parking for La Marque Bayou Fest Shifted to Free Shuttle Service

Parking for La Marque Bayou Fest has been shifted to a free shuttle service from Gulf Greyhound Park at 1000 FM 2004, La Marque, Texas 77568, due to wet field conditions in the on-site parking. Shuttle buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Parking for La Marque Bayou Fest has been shifted to a free shuttle service from Gulf Greyhound Park at 1000 FM 2004, La Marque, Texas 77568, due to wet field conditions in the on-site parking area at Mac McGaffey Highland Bayou Park. Shuttle buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Limited on-site parking is available for the following groups, but city officials strongly recommend all patrons utilize the free shuttle service or a ride-share option, such as Uber or Lyft.

  • All Access
  • Miller Lite VIP
  • Parking Pass
  • BBQ Cook teams
  • BBQ judges

Field conditions in the on-site parking area are muddy, but the main activity areas are drying up nicely. Mayor Bobby Hocking would like to extend an invitation to all citizens and friends of La Marque to join us for our annual family-friendly festival at Highland Bayou Park tomorrow, Saturday, October 19, 2019.

FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE

A free shuttle service is running from Gulf Greyhound Park at 1000 FM 2004, La Marque, Texas 77568. Chairs, fishing poles, wagons, strollers and blankets are welcome on the shuttle buses. No coolers, please. Shuttle buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Handicapped parking and ADA buses will be available.

“COWBOY” JONES CHILDREN’S FISHING TOURNAMENT

Join Rusty Hook Fishing Club for the annual kids’ fishing tournament! The first 200 children 12 years old and younger to register will receive a free t-shirt and lunch. Participants must provide a rod and rod and reel, but Boyd’s One Stop will provide the bait. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Kids can fish from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with parent or guardian supervision. For ten categories of fish, kids can win a new rod and reel plus a new tackle box provided by La Marque Lions Club. Alex’s A/C provides goody bags stuffed with goodies from several Texas City – La Marque Chamber members.

PUMPKIN PATCH & DECORATING CONTEST

Pick a pumpkin for FREE, find a spot under the pavilion and get creative! La Marque Lions Club will present cash prizes for the first-, second- and third-favorite pumpkins.  Age divisions are 5 years and under, 6-10 years, 11-14 years and 15-19 years. A parent must accompany children under the age of 12.

MUTTON BUSTIN'

Dress up your little cowboys and cowgirls and meet us near the pavilion. Registration is at noon and the events start at 1:00 p.m. The fee is $20. There are two age categories, 2-5 and 6-7. Belt buckles will be awarded for Grand Champion and Reserve Champion in each age group. The weight limit is 65 pounds and parents must sign a waiver at registration. Mutton Busting is produced by Lonesome Dove 4H out of Hitchcock, Texas.

AMOCO Fireworks Show 

Stay until 10:00 p.m. to watch the spectacular Amoco Federal Credit Union Fireworks Show.

FREE CONCERTS 

Grab your friends, bring chairs and dance the night away at this free community concert! Shinyribs starts around 4:30 p.m., followed by Kevin Fowler at 6:30 p.m. and headliner Clay Walker hits the stage at 8:30 p.m. No coolers, please. Beer is sold on-site by La Marque Lions Club and proceeds fund youth programs. Make sure to visit our food trucks and craft vendors between shows!

La Marque Bayou Fest is presented by City of La Marque and Texas City - La Marque Chamber of Commerce. The VIP Experience is presented by Miller Lite. Partners include Waste Management, Amoco Federal Credit Union, Dow and Associated Credit Union of Texas.
