Update from
US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas: A slow moving low pressure system will move slowly into southeast TX over the next couple of days, bringing with it abundant and deep moisture. Forecast models are consistent in increasing both coverage and intensity of showers and thunderstorms which linger through Tuesday. Many areas could see 1-3 inches of rainfall over the next couple of days, with areas around Galveston Bay/Upper Texas coast seeing perhaps twice those totals. Expect some flooding for the more vulnerable low lying areas/roadways, we currently expect any flash flooding to remain rather brief/spotty. A Marginal Risk of flash flooding is in effect areawide, with a Slight Risk near Galveston Bay.
