Please make plans to avoid IH-45 for the closure this upcoming weekend. Progress on the I-45 expansion project between FM 517 to FM 1764 in Galveston County will be shifting the South Bound main lane traffic. The work will begin Friday night April 22, 2022, at 9:00 pm and will be completed by Monday morning April 25, 2022, at 5:00 am.
The detour for the weekend closure will be via the South Bound Frontage Roads. All traffic will exit South Bound at the Holland exit and continue along the frontage road to South of FM 1764. Here they will be able to re-enter I-45 South. Off-duty police will be on-site to assist with the traffic control.
