Fizz, pop, color and fire are sure to mesmerize attendees at La Marque Public Library’s Science Club event at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017, as Texas A&M University Chemistry Roadshow puts on a fascinating show. The TAMU Chemistry Roadshow is designed entertain and excite school-aged children with sensory impact, all while teaching that chemistry is not only vital to our lives, but also can be fun. The Science Club event on May 31 is extra special because it will be held at La Marque Fire Department, 1109A Bayou Road, La Marque TX 77568.
The La Marque Public Library Science Club meets at 4:00 p.m., every other Wednesday at 1011 Bayou Road in La Marque. Occasionally, a Saturday Science Club event will be held in addition to the regular program. June 17, for example, features a Straw Roller Coaster event.
“Science Club explores STEM topics every week,” said Youth Librarian Terri Walker. “As part of our summer reading program, special emphasis will be placed on building a better world. We’ll have programs centered around engineering and building like egg drop challenge, build a popsicle stick sky scraper and spaghetti challenge. We encourage the youth or La Marque to get involved and come spend time with us at the library this summer.”
